A record number of 4H’ers attended the Day Camp held at Camp Hazel River. Ninety children enjoyed canoeing, archery, woodworking, art, games, crafts, nature, camping skills, swimming and fishing. Fortythree youngsters went to overnight 4-H camp at Powell’s Fort with Rappahannock 4-H’ers receiving a trophy in archery and awards for best new camper and best Junior Leaders.
Rappahannock 4-H’ers entered the Culpeper, Madison and Rappahannock Farm Show receiving many ribbons and cash prizes. One youth won Best of Show in Woodworking with his 4-H bookends made at the Day Camp.
