Without an additional social worker, the county would have no one to provide adult services upon her departure, Mrs. Buntin noted. With another social worker, she said, "the work could go on even if it took several months to find a new superintendent.”
Even if the superintendent was hired right away, she added, there was a strong possibility, based on what's happened in neighboring counties, that the individual would not have a background in welfare and so would be ill-equipped to handle adult services.
