worker aide provided enough personnel to handle Rappahannock’s case load, based on population. However, she added, that state authorities had agreed to further consider authorization for the additional position.
Miss Mustoe interjected that the job of social work aide hadn't been filled "in years." Besides, she said, an aide can’t do counseling and can't advance to till any ol the positions that the current staff may vacate. "She could do typing for us but that's not our need." Miss Mustoe added.
In response, the Board agreed that Mrs. Buntin should consult with state personnel to find how to abolish the aide's job.
New Food Stamp
Regulations
"What do you expect wiil happen with the food stamp program?" asked Latham.
Mrs. Buntin replied that she couldn't predict what effect new food stamp regulations, in force as of March 1979. would have on the county's caseload. The new regulations should disqualify some clients with higher incomes from receiving food stamps while the elimination of a purchaserequirement will probably encourage others to apply for the program now that they don't have to pay anything for the stamps, she reported.
When none of the board members appeared ready to decide on authorization for the social worker position. Mrs. Buntin insisted that the decision couldn't be postponed since she had to have the administrative budget
