While the nation is considering the impact of the recent message on the State of the Union, perhaps more specific interest to the communities of Rappahannock County may lie in the account of missions accomplished, and 1979 objectives outlined and proposed by President Louis Jenkins of the Amissville Ruritan Club.
The final project of 1978 was reported in the distribution of eight fruit baskets and four larger food cartons to needy Rappahannock homes at Christmas time. Chairman Robert B. Settle included the Amissville Methodist Church in sharing the cost of this endeavor.
As indicated by the club treasurer Charles Mills, this was only a small portion of the $5200.00 earned and distributed by the Amissville
