“I expect we’ll try to hold it (increases in expenditure) at seven per cent,” Latham acknowledged.
Mrs. Johnson agreed. “1 don't have any idea that they'll approve a 20 per cent i increase—unless you think some of these figures can be absorbed in assistances," she added to Mrs. Buntin after a long pause.
Mrs. Buntin requested the board members to decide whether to approve the additional social worker “strictly on need. Then if the supervisors don’t appropriate enough funds to cover, we can't have it.
“It’s going to be very difficult to replace me unless you take the service's load off this job.” she continued. “It’s frustrating to never get my work done, to have lacks and weaknesses in what I can accomplish."
She repeated that she had to have a decision that day so she could have the Title XX plan completed in time for review by regional representatives on January 28.
