A second group is meeting in Atlanta, Dalton said, and will travel to Interstate 95 at Petersburg and continue to Washington.
Dalton said the caravans are expected in Virginia on Tuesday and Wednesday. He said they will be traveling at about 15 miles per hour and that each caravan may stretch out over 20 miles.
Dalton warned Virginia motorists to be on the lookout for the slow moving vehicles and to listen for broadcast reports of their whereabouts to avoid their routes.
He said State Police will be monitoring the movement of the tractorcade and will use citizen band radios to alert drivers.
