The bobcat in Virginia is considered to be rare and in many states it is endangered. The bobcat in Virginia does not need to be regulated hunting as your comment insinuated.
Please do not consider me as an “anti-hunting freak" as I have grown up in a hunting family and have put many a dinner of venison, moose and gamebirds on the table.
However, the status of the bobcat in our state and county does not lend itself to your glorifying the bobcat hunter with words and photos. Is this- our Rappahannock Heritage?

Stupid Sport
To the editor:
I wish the hunters would stop shooting Bobcats. 1 do not see any reason why they shoot them. They say it is a sport. 1 think that it is a cruel, stupid sport. ' Bobcats are neat animals. There are not many left in Sperryville. If hunters keep shooting them there will not be any left.
If there are so few how come you have a hunting season on them? Please don't let the hunters shoot them.
