The basic budget calls for an appropriation of $74,000 for gas oil and lubricants and the recommended budget allots $84,500.
$2 Gallon For Gas
The consensus of the board appeared to be that the appropriation should be figured at $2 per gallon for the 46,000 gallons the transportation fleet uses in a year.
“Personally, I would rather see us over-project,” said Eldred. He suggested the board stipulate that no money will be borrowed from the line item covering gas costs with any funds left over returned to the board of supervisors at the end of the fiscal year.
