A Game Warden, W. S. Mays, recently assigned to Rappahannock, was removed by the Game Commission at the request of local politicians, according to Delegate Tom Frost, who explained that the local politicians were the county government when asked who “they” were.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Gardiner Wines of Chester Gap was totally destroyed by fire and they also lost all of their personal belongings.
Mrs. B. James Moss of Castleton left for a trip to Little Rock, Ark.
Tammy North of Chester Gap returned to her home after being hospitalized for a week with pneumonia at Warren Memorial.
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson of Woodville were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stephenson in Charlotte, N.C. as they were enroute home from a visit in Florida.

A FORD PICKUP owned

of Sperry ville which had been stolen was recovered by Trooper W. A. Buntin at 5 o’clock in the morning in the town of Washington. The driver was charged and jailed.
The Red Cross fund campaign for Rappahannock County was set at $625 and enumerators were being sought for taking the census. Charles B. Wood of Flint Hill was census crew leader for Rappahannock.
Majorie Settle has returned to school in Amissville after undergoing a tonsilectomy and Sonny Williams of that school became a five-pointer after a dental visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Glick and son Larry who moved to McGaheysville recently were weekend guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Racer at Washington.
Mr. and Mrs. John W. Paulson and son of Hampton visited Mr. and Mrs. ■ W. C. Campbell over the weekend.
