Some of the other important Virginia fire laws are listed below. These are in effect the year round.
1. Any time that a fire is built in the open air within 1 SO feet of woodlands (or any other material capable of spreading a fire), t|je fire must be totally extinguished before it is left untended.
2. All reasonable care and precaution must be taken prior to any open burning.
3. Any time a fire escapes into woodlands or brushlands as a result of carelessness, negligence, or intention, the person responsible for the fire will be liable for the expenses of suppressing the fire.
