Douglas said that he contacted a private | psychiatrist for an evaluation and that the doctor was ] supposed to have reported to the court. He acknowledged that he’d received a letter from his court appointed 'ittdrney, alledging that he had not contacted the clinic, and later, when he learned there was a warrant out for his arrest, that he came in to see Dr. Horowitz. Baumgardner asked Judge Robertson to revoke Douglas’ bond, pointing out that over two months elapsed between the court order for psychiatric services and Douglas' first contact with the mental health clinic. He further said that Douglas didn't appear in person at the clinic until after he learned of the warrant issued for his arrest.
Acknowledging that a conflict exists over whether Douglas had complained with the court order requiring he receive psychiatric services, Robertson revoked bond “with great reluctance." The Judge noted that Douglas was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic who may pose a danger to society.
After repeated requests from Douglas, Robertson agreed to allow him to represent himself at the commitment hearing set for February 7 at 9 a.m. The Judge earlier relieved Washington Attorney Peter Luke from serving as Douglas' court appointed attorney.
