The RappahannockRapidan Emergency Medical Services Council agreed on a 1981-82 total budget of $229,290 at their January 27 meeting.
Federal funds will be requested for $175,265 of their budget. Matching local funds of $54,025 will be needed from Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties. Hospitals and rescue squads primarily contribute these matching funds.
Letters of support from the Boards of Supervisors of these five counties will also be requested. EMSC financial plans for 1981 through 1984 are now being presented to local boards by Gary Rosson, Field Coordinator.
In addition to purchasing more equipment, the 1981-82 budget will expand communication systems to transmit electrocardiograms to hospital emergency rooms, electric counter-shock defibrillation, and advanced training for personnel to become Emergency Medical Technician-Cardiac (EMT-C)
