providers. Whenever Culpeper, Madison and Rappahannock counties decide to include electrocardiograms in their emergency medical services, equipment will be available for them.
The tower site for a radiobased station will be the brains of the system. Mobile radios that include transmission of ECG telemetry must have a central-based radio station and a direct radio frequency link to the hospital receiving the telemetry. Doctors will be able to give directions and minitor the patient’s heart at the scene and on the way to the hospital. One more life could be saved.
The Federal Emergency Medical Services 5-year program was designed to •establish and-or improve emergency medical services, upgrade equipment, and assist training programs. EMSC participation in this Federal program will end on June 30, 1983. From then on, continuation of EMSC functions will depend on other sources of funds.
