Income
Persons in the Culpeper area who do not have much income or do not have many assets may be eligible for monthly payments under the supplemental security income (SSI) program.
SSI payments can be made to people in financial need who are 65 or older, or blind, or disabled. Even children can receive these payments if eligibility conditions are met.
The basic monthly Federal SSI payment is S238 for an eligible individual and $357 for an eligible couple.
Not every eligible person receives this amount every month in his or her check. Some get less because they already have some other income. Others have their check reduced because of their living arrangements.
