MADD. a grassroots lobbying group that orchestrated the successful passage of toughter drunk driving laws by the Virginia General Assembly, has set up state officers in Norfolk and is now organizing chapters across the state. The aim of Madd (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) is to receive and spread information on drunk driving, to monitor court proceedings dealing with drunk drivers throughout the Commonwealth and share those findings with the public in an effort to strengthen the state's drunk driving laws. MADD also promotes survival assistance programs by passing on information to victims of drunk drivers and their families.
