Atkins
Silas William Atkins, 86, of Markham died Thursday, March 1 1, 1982. in the Veterans Administration Center in Martinsburg, W. Va.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Markham Primitive Baptist Church by Elder E. S. Skeen. Burial was in Leeds Cemetery.
Mr. Atkins was born September 27, 1895, in Sperryville, son of the late James P. and Texanna Pullen Atkins. He was a farmer and a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his widow. Rosie Cecil Atkins; two sons, Benny Atkins of Chester Gap and Robert Atkins of Front Royal; three daughters. Dorothy Showers and Mary Jane Atkins, both of Markham, and Marie Willingham of Bealeton; one sister, Mattie Jenkins of Winchester, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
