To Set The

Record Straight

To the editor:

To set the record straight - we support the good work Caot. Bill Keim is doing on behalf of the property owners in Rappahannock County. He and the other members of the Citizens’ Committee were appointed at the County Courthouse meeting attended by many long time residents.

One of the committee's objectives is to get laws passed to control abusive “road-hunters” during deer season. Despite the fact that over 2,000 acres in the Castleton area are posted, during this past Christmas holiday there were 20-30 "road-hunters”. These “hunters” turned loose their dogs and, using CB's, commenced shooting from their trucks and the road. Not only were they obstructing driveways and traffic; they were a dangerous menace to the landowners and their property.

As taxpayers, we endorse legislation to protect the rights of the property owner and to curb irresponsible trespassers.
