Final recipes will be selected by a panel of judges and prepared by the contestants on the day of the cook-off. Dishes will be evaluated according to taste, ease of preparation and practicality, originality and appearance. The first place winner will receive $100 and round-trip airfare to the National Beef Cook-Off in September. Second and third place winners will receive $75 and $50, respectively. Last year's state winner, Carol Carroll of Winchester, placed third in the National Beef Cook-Off.
