Washington's Town Council met in its first formal session July 11. The new council mixes two incumbents, two former mayors and three newcomers.
Incumbents are Dorothy Clater and Brad Fisher, former mayor Newbill Miller now serves as a councilman; Mayor Peter Kramer is back in office for his second two-year term; Wallace Critzer, Bill Wickens and Evelyn Miller Willis each are serving first terms.
Wickens is an attorney with offices in Washington, D.C. He commutes from Washington to D.C. weekdays, except when travel, sometimes overseas, takes him away longer.
Willis is a native of Washington. She is the daughter of the late Arthur and Emily Miller.
Critzer is a local contractor.
The new council convened informally June 13, when Mayor Kramer called for a “brainstorming” session to follow the former council’s final meeting.
Town Council meets the second Wednesday every month at 7:30 p.m. The meetings are public.
