It came down in buckets cm tHe^ roof of their van as Doris and Frank Donald camped two nights at Mathews Arm on Skyline Drive recently. But they were lucky because it didn’t rain ■ during the day, and they were able to take walks on the trails, and they saw plenty of those gorgeous creatures-the deer. They were thrilled by the sight of a doe with twin Bambi’s!
The Donald’s had very special guests last Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jenkins of Amissville. They toured Doris and Frank’s TWO gardens. One is near the house with hope that Bambi’s relatives will be discouraged by humans, and the other garden is much further out with vegetables that don’t appeal to the four-legged critters.
The Schoppet-Tribino family just returned from a 10 day trip to Southern California. Richard, Nancy, Tommy, Richard T. and Pamela were all the very happy guests of Jane Lowenberg on top of a rocky mountain in her avocado ranch in Ventura which is north of Los Angeles. The family rented a car and traveled south to San Diego and north to Santa Barbara taking in the sights along the way. The breezy, sunny days, aqua-blue ocean, and pollen free air have left the family stunned! Overwhelmed by the comfortable, dry air and the beauty of the land and sea, this family is California bound in the future.
