Mr. Irvine said he had been to :i "area law enforcement officials — Sheriff John Henry Woodward (in Rappahannock County) and Sheriff Ashby Olinger and Police Chief Gary Heath (in Fauquier County) — and all three have given their endorsement and offered support for the program."
“The reason we chose summer (as the program’s trial season) is that June, July and August account for 40 percent of all traffic accidents every year,” Mr. Irvine said.
