Since Fiscal Year 1983 every eligible and feasible request has been honored in Virginia.

Virginia’s allocation in the various community programs are as follows: water and waste loans allocation $6,474,000; water and waste grant allocation $2,125,000; and community facility loans allocation $3,131,000.

Mr. Godsey stated that FmHA has been successful in obtaining an additional $1,650,000 in community facility loan funds and obligated approximately 153 percent of the original allocation for Fiscal Year 1964.

In Rural Housing, FmHA has made efforts in Virginia to reduce its delinquency and inventory property in the Section 502 Housing Program.

“It appears that many people do not understand that we are trying to ensure that the loans we have made are good loans and that the borrower becomes a successful homeowner,” Mr. Godsey said. “We believe the time spent in servicing an account and counseling a borrower is just as important as the time we spent with an applicant for a housing loan.
