The Section 515 and 521 programs provide rental housing and subsidies for tenants in FmHA financed projects. Under the Section 521 Program, whereby the tenant pays a maximum 25 percent of their income for rent and utilities, there are 1,727 apartment units receiving rental assistance for a total dollar amount of $38.3 million. This program is a subsidy program which assists tenants of very low income with their rent.
Virginia was allocated approximately $26 million in the Section 515 Rental Housing Program for FY 1984 for new loans and has obligated approximately $6.5 million of this allocation. FmHA, is confident all funds will be used, given the number of applications pending. Discount Tickets Offered
