Two pairs of watercolors by Dan Lewis demonstrate different styles— one pair of pastorals, realistic and yet softened and gentle in line, and the other pair more crisp and clear, of cats against wooden backgrounds. Also by Dan Lewis are a series of ink drawings of remarkable faces and characters, each treated with individuality.
Watercolors received an entirely different treatment from Scott Robinson in his works “Supermarket I” and “Electrapods,” interpretations of apples in a shopping cart and a tumble of string beans in bizarre, day-glow colors that manage to be appropriate to and expressive of the subject.
