Learn To Save Via CPR
Cardiopulmonary Resusitation (CPR) can be taught to all lay persons in the community.
When a person’s heart stops beating, or he or she stODs breathing, the person who reaches the victim first is the one most likely to save a life.
Rappahannock County has the advanced life support available and needs to have as many people as possible trained in CPR.
The greatest success is saving a person in cardiac arrest occurs when CPR is started immediately. Offered by the American Heart Association, the CPR class is a 10-hour course that teaches individuals how to provide artificial breathing and circulation to the cardiac arrest victim.
The class teaches a person to recognize the symptoms of heart attack and keys to “prudent heart living.”
Recertification is annual.
It takes a small amount of time to learn something so important. And what can be more important than giving a person every chance possible to live?
