Servicing and supervision has been a priority with FmHA along with loan making. However, even with the priorities established a balanced program must be run to the extent possible and in keeping with those priorities.
FmHA has reduced its housing delinquency percentage from 32 percent to 14.1 percent since Mr. Godsey became State Director in May, 1981. This is the first time Virginia’s delinquency percentage has been below the national average. Since July 1983 to May 1984, FmHA sold 750 houses that were in U.S. Government inventory.
These sales are in addition to the houses financed under the Section 502 and 504 Loan and Grant Programs. As of May 30, FmHA has obligated approximately $21,000,000 in subsidized and nonsubsidized loan funds in the Housing program.
