Marie Davis represented Rappahannock County at the Virginia State 4-H Congress in June. She competed with 4-H’ers from all over the State and placed in the top IS contestants in the Sharethe-Fttn competition.

At The Library
New in the Library this month are 38 large print books, gilts from the Virginia State Library. Books in this easier-on-the-eyes format includes novels by Max Brand, Erie Stanley Gardner, Louis L’Amour, Daphne du Maurier, Ruth Rendell, and Jack Higgins.
Also in large print are the King James Bible; Laurence Olivier’s autobiography; a collection of poems; and And More by Andy Rooney.
For children “reading for the gold” there are books in all categories and age levels — “The Celery Stalks at Midnight, further adventures of Bunnicula the vampire rabbit; Jean Cragihead George’s The Talking Earth, a survival story set in the Florida Everglades; Jean Fritz’ biography of Pocahontas; In a Dark Room and Other Scary Stories; Beth and the Dragon; several “I Can Read” books, and many more.
