Shenandoah Valley Farm Craft Days, one of the Valley’s oldest traditional festivals, will be held July 21 and 22 from 10 to 5 at Belle Grove Plantation, near Middletown.
During the two-day event 80 craftsmen will demonstrate the skills that were vital to farms and rural communities during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Visitors may observe, and sometimes participate in, spinning, weaving, quilting, blacksmithing, sheep shearing, flour and corn meal grinding and other now-obeolete skills.
Belle Grove is two miles south of Middletown on Route 11, convenient to the intersection of Interstates 81 and 66.

Joins Honor Society
Jennifer FitzSimons, daughter of William H. FitzSimons of Flint Hill, was initiated into Mortar Board, national senior honor society, for the 1984-85 academic year at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, N. C.
She was one of 38 juniors to receive the honor. Qualifications are scholarship, leadership and service to the campus and community.
A 1978 graduate of Fauquier High School, Ms. FitzSimons is majoring in French and anthropology and is a dean’s list student. She is a member of the French and anthropology clubs and Sigma Gamma Epsilon honor society.
Discount Tickets Offered
The Parks and Recreation Department is offering Busch Gardens discount tickets good July 14-22. Tickets cost 19.25, a $4.70 savings.
