Forty-three people took advantage of Rappahannock Library’s first theater bus trip November 13 to see ‘Amadeus.’ The trip was arranged by Truman Keesey of the library’s program board and Mrs. James P. Jamieson, library program chairman.
The turnout for the event was near capacity; the bus chartered was limited to 45 people. “I think I missed a lot of fun,” offered Grace Sims, who worked at the library the afternoon of the excursion. “We’re sorry you missed the party,” was the message she got from many people who were able to go, shesaid.
The bus departed the Town of Washington at 3 p.m., bound for K.B. Cinema Theatre at Bailey’s Crossroads. The performance took place from 5 to 8 p.m. During the return trip, participants enjoyed a picnic supper on the bus.
Although not a true biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Amadeus” deals with many facets of his life. The Bound track comes alive with his music; opera scenes are numerous.
Similar trips may be forthcoming, although no specific plans for a follow up have been announced to date.
