Achievement Award
Rappahannock County High ~ School eighth-grader Donna Foster recently was named a United States National Award winner for 1984, according to a press release issued by ( the United States Achievement Academy. According to the release, the honor is bestowed upon less than 10 percent of all high school students nationwide.
The Academy lists Miss Foster as an outstanding achiever in the area of physical education. Miss Foster was nominated for the honor by Miss Teresa McLawhom, physical education teacher. Miss Foster will appear in the United States Achievement Academy yearbook, published nationally.
The Academy selects winners based upon the recommendations of teachers, coaches, counselors or other school sponsors. Among the criteria for selection are a student’s academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities and cooperative spirit.
Miss Foster is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse F. Foster of Castleton.
