Beverly Massie
“I have great anticipation of even more fruitful work from the Board in that now I think we will see more stability,” Massie said. “I have served 12 years with a lot of different people due to great transition on the Board, but now I think that things are settling down.” Massie said that continuity on the Board is the best way to learn what the problems are, and the best way to meet goals.
Massie is also pleased with the administrative staff from Superintendent Robert Estabrook to the guidance counselors at the schools. She is also proud of the dedication of the teachers in Rappahannock, although she is concerned about securing science and math teachers.
Massie’s two children graduated from Rappahannock High. “I worked with the PTA’s and participated as a parent while they were in school, so I can see the schools from a parent’s viewpoint as well as from the standpoint of serving on the Board and the administrative running of the schools,” Massie said.
Massie is proud of the advances made in Rappahannock education, and of what students have achieved. "The county has much to be proud of in the young people today,” Massie said. “I look forward to having the support of the community in the education of today and tomorrow.”
