The county’s proposal to acquire the property on Route 621 for a landfill was made on November 5 with no opportunity for public discussion. Since that time, much information has come to light which clearly shows that a landfill would be inappropriate in this area.
We urge the Board of Supervisors to withdraw this site from further consideration. The county should then proceed in an orderly, open manner, with public support, to come up with an acceptable solution to this problem.
