Clothing Available At Center
Clothing for anyone who needs it will be available free at the Family Worship Center in Washington on Friday, December 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sally Dunphy reporta. The Cfenter has bean receiving gifts of clothing for some time and Center staff hope the public will respond to this invitation.
• State Urges Seatbelt Use
In an effort to reduce crashes, injuries and htaBtiea during the Christmas and New Year holiday periods, state police are urging motorists not to drink and drive and asking them to always wear seat belts while driving or riding in a vehicle.
Last year seven people lost their fives on Virginia highways during the Christmas holiday period and seven more died during the New Year holiday period. State police say K is particularly important that motorists remain alert and drive with caution not only it times of heavy traffic, but in clear weather, with light traffic and the best of driving conditions. It is critical, state police say, that motorists plan trips to allow sufficient time to reach destinations without exceeding spaed limits.
During the holiday periods, state police plan to make uae of aB available troopers to help keep highways in the Commonwealth aa safe aa possible. In aome areas, troopers will be holding motor vehicle road checks. In other locations, they will concentrate on selective enforcement projects.
