The Board of Supervisors will eonthe
possibility of hauling re hue out of Rappahannock as part of a waste-management {dan, several board members said December 17. While doing so, the supervisors said they had not dropped from consideration the proposed landfill site on Route 621 near Peyton Farm Estates nor other possible sites or alternatives that may develop.
The Board on December 12 interviewed six engineer/consultants during a “continuation” of its regular meeting of December 8. The interviews took place during executive (private) session, which began at 9 a.m. and concluded around £30 p.m.
The Board plans to retain one engineer, who will in effect begin all over again to review Rappahannock's waste-disposal situation and needs. Board members say the list has been narrowed to two or three of the candidates, and that each supervisor will continue to study resumes in preparation for the Board’s next regular meeting on January 7.
In the meantime, plans to condemn the 188-acre tract on Route 621 have been postponed, but not dropped.
