Paul Smith Alther, 70, of Front Royal, formerly of Sperryville, died Thursday, December 13 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal
Graveside services were conducted on Sunday at the Sperryville Cemetery by the Rev. John K. Burke, Jr.
Mr. Alther was a native of Rappahannock County and a retired farmer. He moved from Sperryville to Front Royal approximately four years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Louella Pauline Atkins Alther; his mother, Virgie Marie Pullen of Sperryville; two sons, James Alther of Culpeper and Randall Alther of Alexandria; three daughters, Fay Ellen Atkins and Pamela Lynn Woodard, both of Sperryville and Kathy Ann Jenkins of Washington; 10 grandchildren and a step grandson.
Also surviving are a half brother, James Henry Pullen of Washington and two half sisters, Virginia Lee Pullen of Sperryville and Vemie Marie Thomas of Warrenton.
Pallbearers were Thomas Taylor, Bill Taylor, Alson Atkins, Elmer Atkins, Bill Pullen, Charles K. Estes, John Eubank and Jake Sisk.
