Cole works in Rappahannock through the Family Guidance Services p Center located in Washington, and she began her job in November. She is a native of Kentucky with a bachelor of ‘-arts degree In iwychotogy^^from’ Georgetown College in Kentucky, and a masters degree in education from the University of Louisville.
Cole worked for a year as a case manager for mentally handicapped clients in a mental health clinic in Kentucky before her marriage in September. She and her husband, a pastoral intern, also moved to Orange in September.
Cole’s job as mentally handicapped specialist involves work in several areas. “Case management is a major component of my job, and that includes aiding clients in obtaining benefits or services that they need,” Cole said. “I also act as a counselor when needed for clients and families to help in the adjustment to the special needs of the mentally handicapped family member.”
