able to reach our goal of raising $6,000. Because this money has been raised the department now has sufficient fluids to begin other fluid raising activities, starting January 8.

As the outgoing president of this organisation I would like to extend my personal thanks to the many who have helped us, not only in our recent crisis, but throughout the past year. Many of you did not receive the individual recognition for your help which you deserved, and I hope you will accept this letter for that purpose.

PETER H. LUKE President, Amissville V.F.D.

Now Is The Time

To the editor:

“Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their county." A new twist on an oki typing exenfse, these words apply to Rappahannock and the landfill question. It’s time for unity.

Through monetary costs and environmental costs, everyone in the county will be affected by a landfill. The CCRC has never recommended an alternate site for a county landfill. CCRC has only produced possible alternate locations requested by the supervisors. And now our supervisors are listening and looking for other answers to the problem of waste management.

Each of us feels that our special part of Rappahannock County is too precious to scar with pita of poison. I don’t want a landfill in Woodvfile. I understand and share the love of the land expressed by Raymond Johnson and John Shafer.

It’s time to explore ways of naalor

the land. Let’s put our heads and hearts together .and support the supervisors in the search for a better solution.
