On Saturday, November 24, 1964, Cheryl Kay Abernathy and Dooald Paul Ragan were united in mats riage during a 7 p.m. ceremony at Greenwood United Methodist Church at Glen Allen, Va.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fitts Abernathy of Lake Land’or. The groom is the son of Mrs. Donald R. Williams of Ashland and Julian P. Ragan of Richmond. The groom is also the grandaon o|f Mre. Eleanor DeShazo Brown of Sperryville. ■
The Reverend John Crawford officiated at the ceremony. " Honor attendants Were Mrs. Jand ; Madison Slager and Mias Stephanie Dunbar Abernathy of Richmond, Miaa Laura Wade Abernathy Was junior bridesmaid and Miaa Ann Holland Garrett was flower girl.
All the attendants wore foil length jade taffeta gowns and carried nosegays of fall colored daisies and chrysanthemums with baby’s breath and eucalyptus. They wore identical earrings, a gift from the bride.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a bridal ivory satin formal gown with puffed sleeves and adorned with pearls nestled on either side of the scooped neddine. She wore a chapel length train, the cap waa fashioned with alencon lace and pearl trim. The trim on her veil was Schiffli embroidered lace. She carried a foil cascading bouquet of off-white roees, baby’s breath, ivy, fern and Holland lilacs.
Miss Donna Robin Jones of Wilmington, Delaware attended the guest book. She was attired in a formal length cranberry gown. Miaa Jones is a cousin of the groom.
Julian P. Ragan served as the beat man
Groomsmen were Ronald Fitts Abernathy of Alexandria and Douglas ToddAbomathy of Ladtysnpth, brothers of the bride and John Paul Konek of Richmond, cousin of the groom. They wore black tuxedos, tie and cummerbund and white roee buttonairee.
The mother of the bride were a gray formal length gown and a silk orchid.
