The Right Reverend John T. Walker will be the preacher, including a short homily for the children, and Cathedral Provost Charles A. Perry will celebrate the festival Holy Communion. The entire broadcast will be dosed-captioned for the hearing-impaired as part of the Cathedral’s effort to reach all people.
“This service has become an American tradition, especially for shutins or those who were up late at Christmas Eve services,” according to the Rev. Elijah White, Northern Virginia representative of the National Cathedral Association. “We need more such high-quality Christian broadcasts—people will make a special effort to watch first-rate music and preaching when it’s available.”
