Capt. Warren was born September 17, 1961 in Ft. Worth, Tex., received his bachelor's degree in experimental psychology in 1978 from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master's degree from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., National Security Affairs, with emphasis on African studies. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Tex.
He lived for 11 yean (from age 7 to 18) in Brazil, the son of a Baptist Missionary there. This give him a native fluency in Portuguese; he is also fluent in Swahili, a native African lan. guage. His father is now president of the Southern Baptist Convention serving the states of Utah and Idaho.
Capt. Warren says his Biblical hero is Joshua, who was told by the Lord that if he were strong and courageous, God would bless him, it was Joshua who later said: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
The Warrens have three daughters, Aubrey, Kristen and Annie, ages 10,8and6.
