The Rapidan Hunt Club returned Saturday morning and set out on the fresh trail. At about Mk90, the dogs rousted the 458pounder from a grove of pines. Travis Jarell, 16, the son of a hunt chib member, shot the beer, which became the first bear the young hunter had bagged. Hunt club members then field dressed the bear on t)l6 Spot.
Mr. Maroechi described the bear as “a beautifkil, coal-black bear,” and said he was saddened by the series of events. He maintained, however, that bears have caused heartache for many area beekeepers, and he again pnused the pro&s- . sional and respectful manner in which the Rapidan Hunt Club took care of the problem.
