and the town planning commission appointed that the charter would supersede the ordinance. “I don’t think that we should appoint a planning commission, and then turn around and repeal it,” Miller said.

Council member Bill Wkkens made a motion to table the proposed historic district ordinance until the February meeting when the council should know how the charter bill is progressing. Mayor Kramer told the council that he thought that a delay would be a mistake. The motion passed by a voteofsixtoone.

Baurpgardner reported to the council hie suggestions on the proposed dog ordinance. Baumgardner recommended that the council consider two ordinances to address the problem. He suggested a general ordinance prohibiting the running of dogs in the town, and another ordinance prohibiting the “littering” of public streets and common areas.

Baumgardner suggested that the council leave specifics on enforcement of the regulations out of the ordinances. He also told the council that it would not be wise to designate someone without training as dog warden for the town.
