The CCRC has instructed me to make another attempt to set the record straight about eur motives and efforts, fat view of your letters last week from Messer*. Shafer, Johnson and Eaatham.
What we have been calling for, over and over, is for a thorough search at the county for a landfill site that will be of easy access, reaaonable coat and the least disruptive of the county’s ecology, character and its population. We have urged, too, that alternative methods at waste management be investigated, particularly the haulage at our trash to disposal facilities outside the county. We have been disappointed—and more than a little surprised—that Rappahannock residents generally did not speak up in support of this open-minded approach. Still, we are pleased to see that the supervisors appear increasingly sympathetic to it, especially to the idea of exporting our trash to facilities now being act up to use the materials far the prodiwtkn of
