The National Defense challenge, the message from the President General NSDAR and a resume of the life of George Washington featured the luncheon meeting when the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR, under the leadership of Mrs. Dale Metzinger, Regent, met Tuesday, November 12 at the Culpeper Country Club.
The President General’s message given by Mrs. Zillah Gutowski, informed the group of receiving a document designating DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. as a National Historic Landmark. Also that the gift from all . DAR Chapters in the Nation would amount to $500,000 for aid in the restoration of the Statue of Liberty.
Mrs. G.E. Honts, Jr., the main speaker of the day, in her amicable manner impersonated Martha Washington in treating her subject “Washington, the Man.” of War.
