Society realized about $75 from the .play, “Hobgoblin House,” presented at the Sperryville school last Friday night. Those in the cast were Mrs. Frances Lyne, Mrs. Catheryn Wayland, Buddy Aylor, Mrs. Florence Brown, Mrs. Ann Thompson, Rhodes Brown, William Armentrout, Miss Sally Dwyer, Rev. A. Paul Thompson, Irvin Corbin, Mrs. Joseph H. Aylor and Bill Lyne.
Among those hunting deer near Bowling Green Monday were P. Lee Thornton, Lucio Kilby, Ned Jones, Dutch Updike, Colbert Smoot and Charlie Smoot.
Official notification has been received that the county health office will be opened January 1, with Mrs. P. Lee Thornton as county nurse and Mrs. Joe Henry Aylor as clerk. The office will be located in the former Moffett law office, next to the Courthouse buildings.
James M. Settle, Clerk of Rappahannock County, has put in one of the busiest seasons the county has seen as the Nimrods rushed the office in purchasing hunting and fishing licenses and bear and deer stamps. Clerk Settle had sold out of bear and deer stamps Saturday morning before hunting season opened on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. S. E, Hening, James Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., and Miss Lucy Catherine Bowie were among the guests at the annual banquet given by the Luray Chamber of Commerce at the Mimslyn Hotel Thursday evening, November 16.
