Mrs. Weakley’s Old-Fashioned
Mashed Potatoes
At Mrs. Weakley’s, deer meat wouldn’t be deer meat without mashed potatoes.
Take a quart of water for four big potatoes; boil the potatoes until done. Pour off all but a cupful of the water, then mash them in this. The strength of the potatoes is in that water, according to Mrs. Weakley. While you are mashing, add a tablespoon of margarine and 1/3 cup of evaporated' milk. “Then give them another good beating and salt them to suit yourself.” This serves four people.
