Stevie Sealock, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Golden Sealock of Chester Gap, was a very proud boy last Monday when he shot a deer weighing approximately 125 pounds.

On Monday morning, November 22, at 8:15 a 1964 Ford Falcon operated by Joyce Rachel Aylor, owned by Russell Lee Aylor of Flint Hill, skidded on wet pavement on Route 622 in Smedley Hollow, struck a bank on the left side of the road with damage of approximately $300 to the vehicle.

Eureka’s newest vacuum cleaner, the “500,” arrived at The Jewel Box Stores in Front Royal with a price of $39.95.

Good weather and good

hunter success marked the first two days of the season in Rappahannock County. Through Tuesday evening 45 deer had been killed and checked in Rappahannock County. Another three deer were checked here but had been taken in Fauquier and Culpeper counties.

The Arts and Crafts Group of Rappahannock will meet Tuesday, November 24 at Cab Inn, Sperryville. Work will continue on block printing of Christmas cards.

The month of November, to date, has been the wettest November in Rappahannock since official weather records have been kept here. The official weather checking station was instituted in 1944 and is manned by Miss Rqby Jenkins at her home in Washington, Va.

Two members of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Flint Hill Methodist Church have received life membership in this organization. Mrs. Paul Miller and Mrs. W. A. Gentry were presented gold pins and certificates designating this at the meeting held Monday eve- f ning at the home of Mrs. Eva L. Smith.
