Members of the Prep School performed several skits including one entitled “Us” starring the “stunning Dunning” sisters which parodied several of their classes and another which featured the organizer of the evening, faculty member Lee Buratt, accompanied by students of all ages depicting “The Perfect Student.” Freshman Eddie Ferguson of Martinsburg, W. Va., earned rousing applause for his breakdance performance entitled “Oak Tree.”
Two seniors, Elif»e Maar of Front Royal and Andrew Supit of Huntly, gave moving piano performances. Maar performed “Fantasie Impromptu” while Supit played his own composition “Longing for You.”
The grand finale saw the Master of Ceremonies, Allan Grimm, of Front Royal, and Shawn Hunter of Amissville ending the evening with the familiar “Happy Trails.”
In all, there were 26 performances during the evening that involved more than 55 students as well as numerous faculty members and parents. The sentiments of the cast members were best expressed by an Indonesian proverb on the cover of the evening’s program that translates, “My music is myself, a reflection of my life.”
