The first of those would move the party’s state headquarters from Richmond to some other location in the state. The idea is to get the party’s leadership as far away from its clique of “Main Street bosses” as possible. They believe that only a physical move can break the hold that the Main Street political and financial interests have on the GOP decision making process.
The second resolution would require an independent CPA audit of the party’s finances by a reputable firm which has no political or financial link to the party organization. They believe that is a necessary first step to getting the GOP’s house in order.
The third resolution would call for the impeachment of certain Congressional District chairmen whom the dissenters say are more interested in ideological purity and in pressing for conservative litmus test issues than in making the compromises necessary to win elections.
