Cook appointed
State Forester James W. Gamer recently announced that James E. Cook has been appointed to the position of Deputy State Forester for the Virginia Division of Forestry.
Cook is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. He began his career with the Division of Forestry in 1967 and served as county forester, district I forester, and was the regional forester in Farmville, Virginia for the past 11 years.
Cook is from a military family ! and spent most of his youth traveling in the deep south.
He and his wife, Roberta, | and two children, Valerie and Allison, will be moving to Charlottesville where his new duties will include supervision of operations for I the Division’s nine regional field offices and coordination of the statewide training program. j
